This is final sign installed. BELOW: See highlights from the fabrication and the less-harrowing moments from the install.
Before: There was no signage or identity for the building. The business was formerly called Lakeside Grill
Also Before: This is a Photoshop rendering of the design for the client to approve before fabrication begins. Suggestions for dealing with trash, alternative downspouts, and water collection are made.
Fabrication starts in the shop of a local craftsman using to-scale drawings provided by Eloqui. The concept is a design that “molds” the letterforms into the familiar grill or griddle shape. In that way, the materials are used to “forge” the idea of the grilled food served here and the memory of that experience.
Light Shingles behind dark letters
Dark log facade behind light, stainless letters
Black pressed metal behind aluminum or stainless letters
A scale diagram is made of the design for the clients approval and the purposes of estimating fabrication costs and compatibility of materials. Minor and major alterations can happen at this stage.
The weight was approximated at 500lbs, with each large letter weighing 18lbs.
